Forgiven

Isn't it awesome how God forgives us over and over again?
I have a confession.... I sin. Often. And so often it's hard to ask for forgiveness from the Lord when I seem to be utilizing that part of His character a lot.
A couple months ago, after one such episode of sin nature, I was feeling very guilty and quite angry at myself. I asked for forgiveness, promised to change (yet again), and like so many times before, He did. Then the Lord showed me an awesome picture. I saw Him throw a huge, beautiful robe around me that was pure white, it covered me completely. Then He said, " I see you as pure now, because of my Son ". I wanted to stop Him, because I didn't deserve such a robe, but I felt Him say that He had to so He could be close to me. That if sin was between us, because of His righteousness and justice, He could not be with me and that would break His heart, so He HAD to forgive. He HAD to be the sacrifice.
I went over to the piano and began to thank Him for such a wonderful gift and began to write this song...

Wash me clean, cover me
I have tried to make it alone
Without Your love, without Your blood
Where would we be, lost without You?

You had to be the sacrifice
You had to lay down Your life
Or Your heart would break to turn us from Your sight

You had to give Your only Son

Okay, that last blog was a fun game that Luke played on me called, " Hijack Abbey's Blog posts and write silly stuff". It was fun while it lasted Luke..... :)
